Axiom consortium wins Saudi MNVO licence

Axiom Mobile consortium has been selected for a  mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) license in Saudi Arabia, which will enable it to provide mobile telecommunications services across the Kingdom, a statement said. The company is now entering the final phase of the process with the Saudi Communications and Information Technology Commission (CITC), it said.

Saudi licenses three MVNOs

The Saudi regulator, CITC, has provisionally awarded three companies the country’s MVNO licenses. Virgin Mobile Middle East & Africa (VMMEA), with operations in Jordan, Oman and South Africa, will operate on STC’s network; London-based Jawraa Lebara has teamed up with Mobily; and Dubai-based retailer Axiom Telecom will work with Zain Saudi.

Vivo launches Tuenti in Brazil

Telefonica’s Brazilian subsidiary Vivo has launched the social communication platform Tuenti, after a year of testing the beta format. Tuenti is available in 12 languages for Android, Blackberry, BlackBerry 10, iOS, Windows Phone and Firefox OS devices. Telefonica also plans to launch Tuenti and Tuenti Movil MVNO in Mexico.
