Kenya: Bharti Airtel has opened a new chapter in the local telecoms industry with the announcement that it will host three mobile virtual network operators, (MVNOs) on its Kenyan network. The telecommunications services provider with operations in 20 countries across Asia and Africa expressed delight to be the mobile operator pioneering the innovation in the Kenyan Telecoms Industry. A statement from the company clarified that the MVNO services would run on the unused capacity on its network, ensuring that it maintains a seamless quality experience for its consumers.
Differentiation agenda Airtel Kenya Managing Director Shivan Bhargava lauded the Communications Authority of Kenya (CAK) for the bold move. He said the launch of MVNOs is in line with Airtel Kenya’s innovation and differentiation agenda.
